Regular meeting of Vnesheconombank’s Supervisory Board held

On June 1, 2016, Vnesheconombank’s Supervisory Board considered an issue of increasing authorized capital of JSC the Russian Export Center (REC) (VEB Group) by way of placing additional registered shares to be purchased later by Vnesheconombank. Thus, REC’s authorized capital is to amount to 48.8 billion rubles. This decision was made as part of implementing the Russian Government’s anti-crisis plan in so far as it relates to additional capitalization of JSC ROSEXIMBANK for an amount of 8.1 billion rubles. This measure will make it possible to provide credit support to Russian exporters for an amount of 40 billion rubles.

The meeting’s participants determined main parameters of transactions on investing pension savings funds in corporate bonds in 2016, made a decision to purchase up to 100% of ten-year bond issues of PJSC Rosset in the amount of 25 billion rubles and Atomenergoprom for an amount of 60 billion rubles. The purchase of these companies’ shares into the extended portfolio of the State Managing Company will make it possible to raise the portfolio’s immunization, its level of diversification and generate yields exceeding those of the OFZ issue with a respective maturity by 1%.

Vnesheconombank and Rosatom plan to develop investment cooperation

In the course of the 8th International Forum Atomexpo 2016, State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ and the State Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosatom, entered into an Agreement on cooperation.

On behalf of Vnesheconombank the Agreement was signed by Chairman Sergei Gokov and on behalf of Rosatom – by State Corporation Director General Sergei Kirienko.


The Agreement provides for developing and enhancing bilateral cooperation including providing support for the Rosatom State Corporation’s investment projects abroad. These projects are instrumental in boosting Russian exports of non-raw materials high-tech Russian products.

“We regard the Rosatom State Corporation as our strategic partner and we are ready to do our utmost to fund the development of new technologies in nuclear power engineering as well as projects in the import substitution”, said Sergei Gorkov.

“An Agreement signed today with Vnesheconombank is another step in our cooperation which has been in place for many years. Now, the Bank is identifying new strategic priorities on which our future cooperation will be built. I’m sure that implementation of projects under the Agreement signed would contribute to addressing global issues of developing atomic energy industry and increasing energy security of the Russian Federation”, said Sergei Kirienko.

Vnesheconombank plans to take an active part in implementing a program “Development of Atomic Energy Industrial Complex” through funding the Rosatom State Corporation’s projects. The Bank also intends to extend related banking and investment services upon implementing relevant projects.

The parties expressed confidence that implementation of joint projects under this Agreement would contribute to Russia’s economic growth and to expanding Russia’s global presence on the world’s nuclear power market.

Vnesheconombank becomes the winner in the ADFIAP Project Awards 2016 Competition

A project on the construction of the Boguchan hydro-power plant implemented with the financial assistance of Vnesheconombank won first place in the ADFIAP Project Awards 2016 Competition in the nomination “Infrastructure Development”. An annual award ceremony of the ADFIAP Project Awards 2016 was held as part of the 39th Annual Meeting of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) in the city of Apia, the Independent State of Samoa.

The Boguchan hydro-power plant is among the five largest hydro-power plants and it covers a third of the need for electric energy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The launch of the power plant makes it possible to implement other large-scale projects on the development of the Lower Angara Area: construction of the Boguchan aluminum factory, roads, gold-mining and timber-processing facilities.

This is already the second ADFIAP award presented to the Bank. In the ADFIAP Awards 2013 competition in the nomination “The Best Sustainable Development Report”, Vnesheconombank’s sustainable development report won first place.

An annual meeting and an ADFIAP Awards Ceremony held as part of it are main ADFIAP events uniting all its members.

The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) is one of the largest international associations of development institutions. It is comprised of 131 institutions from 45 countries. Vnesheconombank became a full member of ADFIAP on January 1, 2013.

Vnesheconombank and the Export-Import Bank of India agree to cooperate

In the course of the fourth meeting of the Group of Twenty countries financial development institutions’ heads – D20 in Beijing, State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ and the Export-Import Bank of India signed an Agreement on Cooperation.

On behalf of Vnesheconombank the Agreement was signed by First Deputy Chairman - Member of the Board Nikolai Tsekhomsky and on behalf of the Export-Import Bank of India – by David Rasquinha.


The parties agreed to cooperate in implementing projects in infrastructure, sustainable development, energy efficiency as well as in sharing business experience and information.

The Export-Import Bank of India was set up in 1982, its sole shareholder the Government of India. It is headquartered in the city of Mumbai. The Bank’s main lines of activity are funding and providing support for exports; international investment funding; project finance, corporate services. Like Vnesheconombank, the Export-Import Bank of India is a participant in the BRICS interbank cooperation mechanism.
