Vnesheconombank Signs Memorandum of Mutual Understanding with Kazakhstan Development Bank
Today, on March 30, in the course of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov’s working visit to Kazakhstan Vnesheconombank and the Kazakhstan Development Bank signed a Memorandum of Mutual Understanding.
The Memorandum was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and Kazakhstan Development Bank President Askar Sembin.
The Memorandum aims to expand cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in developing the timber processing industry.
Under the Memorandum the two sides are determined to explore the possibility of financing Inter Forest Company’s (Kazakhstan) project to purchase and modernize the Maklakov Timber Processing Sawmill (Russia).
The signing and further implementation of the Project would be a significant step in promoting economic ties between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan.

On April 23, 2007, Vnesheconombank will hold tenders to dispose of funds in US dollars to make settlements with India (code C 95), with the funds being received from India to repay its debt to the Russian Federation.
Besides, each Monday Vnesheconombank holds tenders to dispose of funds in Indian rupees (code C 45) being received from India to repay its debt to the Russian Federation.
