Winners of Development Award 2018 for Best Investment Project Announced

Vnesheconombank has announced the winners of Development Award 2018 in the Best Investment Project category in conjunction with the Russian Investment Forum. The award is organised in partnership with the Roscongress Foundation.

The winners received their awards from Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chairman of Vnesheconombank’s Supervisory Board, and Sergey Gorkov, Vnesheconombank’s Chairman.

Sergey Gorkov: “The projects that received the Award facilitate the implementation of the social and economic government policy aimed at developing high-tech manufacturing sectors, providing export support and unlocking the innovation and manufacturing potential of Russian companies. This year, we introduced a new award category, Best Innovation Start-Up. We are delighted to announce that this category was won by the winners of the Million Dollar Idea TV programme, Vnesheconombank’s unique reality show. The project was judged by a jury including heads of big investment funds, leaders on the Forbes list, directors of key development institutions and media stars.”

The award in the Best Innovation Start-Up category was won by Avrora Robotics LLC with its AgroBot project. AgroBot is an autonomous farm equipment control system managed from a central computer.

The Best Infrastructure Project Category was won by JSC Transholdleasing for the project related to the purchase of new metro carriages leased to the Moscow Metro under a lifecycle contract. The project involved the supply of 664 Metrovagonmash underground carriages in 2014 - 2016.

The award in the Best Industry Project category went to PAO Autodiesel (Yaroslavl Motor Plant) for building and operating facilities for manufacturing a new family of engines YaMZ-530 (100 to 330 hp) using best practice in design and testing. The project involves building and organising manufacturing of 100 to 330 hp engines that would meet and exceed customers’ needs in Russian and foreign markets.

The Best Digital Economy Project category was won by SmartSeeds LLC with its SmartSeeds project in Rostov Region. The company designed an IT-platform for automated transportation of agricultural and other products aimed to create a common information environment for agricultural sales transactions.

The Best Export Project category was won by JSC Novomet-Perm for the supplies of Russian high-tech oil equipment to the United Arab Emirates. The project will allow to provide a full range of services for technical maintenance of the equipment (Russian-manufactured electric centrifugal pumps) and oil production, thus unlocking the national non-resource export potential in the Far East.

The Development Award is a professional award in recognition of involvement in large-scale capital investment programmes and projects of national importance with a significant contribution to Russia’s socio-economic development. It is an annual nationwide contest established by Vnesheconombank in 2012.
