During the III Eastern Economic Forum, Vnesheconombank and the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia (FMBA) entered into a cooperation agreement.
The document was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Sergey Gorkov and FMBA Head Vladimir Uiba.
The parties have agreed to cooperate with a view to preparing and delivering a national 4P medicine operator investment project, as well as other healthcare projects. Preventive, personified, predictable and participative, the 4P medicine is the medicine of the future. The Federal Centre for Project Finance (FCPF) will act as the project coordinator on behalf of the VEB Group.
“Medicine is one of the most rapidly developing sectors with a large number of investment projects that have a considerable commercialization potential. Comprising hospitals, research institutes and rehabilitation centres, FMBA possesses the enormous medical capabilities. VEB Strategy ranks high-technology medicine as one of priority business areas. Together with FMBA, we will look for high-potential projects, conduct expert reviews and feasibility studies, in particular, on a public-private partnership basis,” said Sergey Gorkov.
“The agreement we have signed is of considerable importance not only for FMBA. In fact, it is a platform that would enable Russia to introduce and develop a unique concept of personified medicine. No vaccine can be universally effective: every organism requires a personified approach. This is the medicine of the future. Personified pharmaceuticals and individual selection of medical technologies are essential for medicine to develop in future,” emphasized Vladimir Uiba.
