Vnesheconombank took part in the 10th Meeting of the Russian-British Joint Liaison Group to establish an international financial centre (IFC) in the Russian Federation. The meeting was held in Moscow, at the principal office of the International Investment Bank.
The meeting focused on the results and prospects of cooperation on improving banking regulation and oversight, strengthening corporate governance, and developing new financial technologies and financial market infrastructure.
The meeting was conducted by co-chairmen of the Liaison Group Alexander Voloshin on the Russian side and Miles Celic, CEO of The CityUK, representing the British. Deputy Chairman of Vnesheconombank Sergey Vasiliev pointed out that Vnesheconombank actively participates in the Liaison Group and views it as an important channel for keeping open dialogue with the British and global financial community amid continuing Western sanctions.
The Russian-British Joint Liaison Group was established in June 2011 to facilitate the establishment of the International Financial Centre in the Russian Federation. The first meeting of the Liaison Group in Moscow was hosted by Vnesheconombank on 27 June 2011.
